Host a Kaggle Days Meetup in Your Hometown

You’ve been hearing a lot about Kaggle Days lately and that's because we’re excited to be co-hosting a number of incredible events this year alongside our friends at LogicAI . We know Kaggle Days aren't accessible to everyone in the community, though, which is why we’re doubly excited about Kaggle Days Meetups ! Kaggle Days Meetup in London What are Kaggle Days Meetups? Kaggle Days Meetups are smaller, local events hosted by and for Kagglers. These meetups provide space for data scientists to learn, network, and have fun! They’ve been hosted in Warsaw, London, Brussels, Milan, and Madrid, and we hope to see them pop up in your corner of the world soon. Host a Kaggle Days Meetup! The best way to bring a Kaggle Days Meetup to your city is to host one yourself. Yes, YOU! We’re currently seeking meetup hosts around the world. New Changes to the Kaggle Progression System

Kaggle was founded on the principles of meritocracy, and our community has thrived as a place where anyone—regardless of background or degree—can earn accolades for their performance in machine learning competitions. Over the years, we’ve seen how one’s Kaggle rankings in competitions and community contributions can serve as powerful credentials in the data science industry. Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of the newest and highest Kaggle tier of all: The Great-Great-Great-Great Grandmaster. This next tier of achievement uses the same core value of meritocracy to give advanced Kagglers the recognition they so richly deserve. (It does not make any changes to the existing points system.) Choose Your Own Adventure For each of the categories: Competitions, Kernels, and Discussion, you will be able to achieve the latest performance tier of Great-Great-Great-Great Grandmaster. You will still be able to advance tiers within each category independently. Your overall tier ...

The Future of AI in Africa Looks Bright | A Winner Interview with Mhamed Jabri

Last year we took our annual data science survey to the next level by turning over the results to YOU through an open-ended Kernel competition. We were overwhelmed by the response and quality of kernels submitted. Not only are Kagglers amazing data scientists, but they’re incredible storytellers as well! Mhamed Jabri was one of those skillful enough to take our data and shape it into something meaningful— not just for Kaggle, but for the data science community at large. We hope you enjoy getting to know him as much as we did. Congrats, Mhamed, on your win! To take a look at Mhamed's winning Kernel, visit: AfricAI   What was your background prior to entering this challenge ? I’m currently pursuing an MS in Applied Mathematics at Ecole Centrale Lyon. My first formal background in machine learning came through several MOOCs and internships that I had during my gap year. I became active on Kaggle last year, winning multiple Kernel Awards and finishing top 1% in the Data Sc...
